I always wonder where this attraction for shearing comes from. I’ve always loved hair, but had mine buzzed when I was 14, and now wonder if that’s what influenced me.

My evil “stepmonster” took me to her best friend Betty who had a beauty shop in her basement. I was being punished for coming home late (although I found out later she’d re-set the downstairs clocks–a set-up). So I found myself at 9:30 pm on a Friday eve. sitting in the salon chair as this woman snipped my hair shorter and shorter. She would finish a style, turn me towards the stepmonster who would sneer and say “shorter”. I ended up with a crop cut, not even long enough to curl. Luckily it was at the very start of summer, so my hair had grown quite a bit by school. It was horrible at the time, but looking back at it, now that I’m an adult I find the situation exciting and many of my fantasies revolve around this idea (as many of you know).

I just wonder if this wouldn’t have happened, it I still would’ve found clipping so…. exciting?
